Second CIC Conclave

IIT Indore conducted its second Corporate and Industry Connect (CIC) on February 4, 2023 with Professor Subhasis Chaudhuri, Director, IIT Bombay as the Chief Guest.
Prof. Suhas S. Joshi, Director IIT Indore was also present in the event.
The invitees were briefed on the R&D activities of the Institute and shared different ways to collaborate with the Institute by Prof I A Palani, Dean R&D. Professor Neelesh Kumar Jain updated about the upcoming Research Park at IIT Indore and invited Industries to set up Research Centres in the proposed Research Park to benefit from IIT Indore’s outstanding research infrastructure and best expertise.
Prof. Chaudhuri emphasized on the benefits of joint efforts of industries and IITs in the overall development of society. He also explained the importance of the Industry Academia interaction in the growth of GDP and nation-building. He appreciated the efforts put by IIT Indore to develop the translational research ecosystem for innovation and development of cutting edge technologies.
Prof. Joshi informed the invitees on the research activities of the Institute and assured that the Institute will continue to contribute to the society, and help people at the bottom of the pyramid by making the research relevant to them.
Around 30 industry leaders from the Pharma and IT sector attended the event.
Two-panel discussions namely in the Pharma and IT sector were conducted to find out areas where Industries would seek help from IIT Indore to solve their problems.
A follow-up and review meeting was also held by the Special Interest Groups (SIGs) constituted based on the first CIC event. As a result of this, around 10 projects are being implemented and few are in the pipeline. Lot of faculty members of the Institute have shown their interest to collaborate with these industries. IIT Indore is planning to conduct more such programs with industries in different areas in the future.
The first meet was conducted in August 2022 with 15 major industries of the Auto sector in and around Indore.
